This policy applies to the Charger on Wheels (COW) app available on Google Play (package com.chargeronwheels.app) and on the Apple App Store (com.cowapp.app), and to our website. By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to provide doorstep and society-based EV charging Services.

a. Information you provide

• Identity & contact details — your name, mobile phone number, and email address, collected at sign-up and verified by one-time password (OTP).
• Address & location details — the service address(es) you add, including building/flat details, city, state, and postal code, and the geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) of that address.
• Vehicle details — the electric vehicle(s) you register, such as make/model and battery information, used to deliver appropriate charging.
• Payment information — details required to process subscription and charging payments. Card and banking details are entered with and processed by our payment partner; we do not store your full card or bank credentials on our systems.

b. Information collected automatically

• Location data — the precise coordinates of your service address are used to determine whether your location falls within a serviceable area and to assign your request to the correct local service operator. We use location to define and verify serviceability, not for advertising.
• Usage & charging history — your bookings, charging sessions, subscription status and usage, and transaction records.
• Device & log data — basic technical information needed to operate the App securely and diagnose issues.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To deliver EV charging Services at your location and determine service availability for your area.
• To create and manage your account, verify your identity via OTP, and authenticate your access.
• To process subscription and charging payments and issue refunds where applicable.
• To maintain a record of your bookings, charging sessions, and subscription usage.
• To route your service to the correct local operator responsible for your area.
• To send you service-related updates, notifications, and support responses.
• To comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud or misuse.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only as needed to provide the Services:

• Payment processors — to securely process your payments and refunds.
• Mapping & address services — to support address search/autocomplete and resolve location coordinates.
• Local service operators / franchise partners — the operator assigned to your area receives the information necessary to fulfil and service your charging requests.
• Legal & safety — where required by law, regulation, or to protect the rights and safety of users, the public, or the Company.

Our partners are permitted to use your information only to perform services for us and are required to protect it.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, and thereafter only as required to comply with legal, tax, accounting, or dispute-resolution obligations. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it.

5. Your Rights and Choices

Subject to applicable law, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may:

• Ask what personal data we hold about you and request access to it.
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.

The Services are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
